Trading a piece you no longer wear can put its value toward something that suits you better. A trade should make sense on both sides: the allowance for your item and the price of the piece you choose.

Bring the Piece and Its Records

Bring the watch or jewelry, any original box, spare links, receipts, service records and available gemstone reports. These help us understand the piece, although paperwork alone does not authenticate it. Let us know about repairs, replacements or custom changes.

You can ask about a damaged watch or broken jewelry too. Repair needs affect an offer, and acceptance depends on the individual item. If you have a particular replacement in mind, share its listing or style details before your appointment.

How the Offer Is Evaluated

We consider materials, stones, workmanship, brand, condition, originality and demand. A watch with replacement parts or a ring with worn prongs needs a different assessment from a comparable piece without those issues. Ask us to explain the factors behind the offer.

Compare the complete transaction rather than the trade allowance alone. A larger allowance does not necessarily mean a better deal if the replacement piece also costs more. Ask for the purchase price, allowance and any remaining amount clearly in writing.

Trading Up or Down

If the chosen piece costs more than the agreed allowance, you pay the difference, plus applicable charges. The original article also described trades for a lower priced item with the remaining balance paid out or applied to another piece. Confirm the agreed arrangement and payment method for your transaction before accepting.

You can compare an outright purchase offer with a trade offer without committing. There is no need to decide until you understand the condition, included accessories and terms of the replacement piece.
