Oval Halo Engagement Rings: Planning a Two Carat Design
Share
An oval center and a narrow diamond accented band create a long, delicate outline. A halo adds a border around the center, making the whole top of the ring part of its visual size.
This article was originally titled “2-Carat Oval Double Halo Ring.” The photographs show one visible surrounding halo, and the center weight cannot be confirmed from the images. Use the gallery as a design example, not proof of a two carat center or a double halo.

Separate Center Weight from Total Weight
If your goal is a two carat oval, ask whether the quoted weight refers to the center diamond alone or every diamond in the ring. Request the center’s measurements as well. Weight by itself does not describe how long or wide the stone looks.

Look at the Oval in Motion
Compare the outline, symmetry and brightness under ordinary lighting. Rotate the ring and watch how dark and bright areas change. A still photograph may emphasize or hide those contrasts.

One halo keeps the border relatively narrow. Two concentric halos create a wider top and change the balance between the center and the surrounding stones. Ask to see the actual design from the side as well as straight on.
Make Room for a Wedding Band
The raised center setting and narrow shoulders deserve a fit check with your preferred wedding band. Confirm the metal, center grading report, ring size and any resizing limits before deciding.
