Diamonds & Donuts: Our July 12, 2020 Car Show Preview

In June 2020, we announced plans to bring Diamonds & Donuts back to the showroom on July 12. The announcement followed a pause in our usual car shows and two community car cruises. This is a look back at that announcement, with photographs from earlier gatherings used to introduce the event.

A Return for the Car Community

The plan welcomed cars of every make and model, from everyday projects to exotic sports cars. The original announcement listed a 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. event at 2801 North Federal Highway, with advance registration because parking was limited. Those details belong to the 2020 event; registration is no longer open for that date.

We planned music with Nikko Nation, coffee, donuts and a jewelry giveaway. The announcement also described a $10 barbecue benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Broward County, with free event admission. It reflected how our car gatherings brought together local interests and support for a community cause.

Cars Featured in the Preview

The archive includes Ferraris, Lamborghinis and McLarens alongside Mercedes AMG, Aston Martin and Porsche examples. A Corvette ZR1 and a white Ford GT represented American performance cars. Teslas, a modified Nissan 240SX and classic cars added variety to the lineup. These were examples from our community, rather than a guaranteed attendance list.

Julia Rose from Julia’s Garage was expected to bring her turquoise 1962 Chevrolet C10. In the original feature, she described learning about cars with her father and rebuilding the truck with an LS3 engine and a later chassis. The truck photographs remain part of this preview.

An Announcement from a Particular Moment

The post discussed smaller gatherings, cleaning and other precautions being considered during the pandemic. Those were plans reported in 2020, not current event rules or a guarantee of safety. For a new visit or gathering, check the current details directly with our team.

The photographs below preserve the mix of cars, jewelry and familiar faces that made the return of Diamonds & Donuts exciting for us.
