Cartier Diamond Watches: Case Shapes, Settings and Fit
Share
Start with the Case Shape
Cartier diamond watches can take very different forms. The Santos examples in this gallery use a squared outline, while the round watches create a softer border around their Roman numeral dials. Compare those shapes before deciding how much decoration you want.

Balance the Dial and the Setting
An openwork dial reveals a different visual pattern from a pale or iridescent surface. Extensive stone coverage adds more reflections around both. Look at the hands in ordinary light and decide whether the dial remains easy to read when the watch moves.

Bracelet or Strap
The original photographs include both decorated bracelets and straps. Each changes the feel on the wrist and the way the watch meets a sleeve. Confirm bracelet length, available adjustment and the condition of the strap or clasp rather than choosing from the front view alone.

Ask About the Stone Settings
Do not assume every gem set component was fitted by Cartier. Ask about the origin of the case, dial and bracelet settings separately, along with any replacement parts. Stone grades, metal content and movement details should be confirmed for the individual watch; they cannot be inferred from the brand name or a photograph.
