Cushion Ring Color and Accents: What Photos Can Show
Share
The terms cushion and colorless describe different aspects of a diamond. Shape refers to its outline; a formal color grade requires grading information. Neither claim should be based only on a bright close photograph.

Check the center’s documented shape
This gallery’s center has a long rectangular outline and clipped corners. It should not be treated as a confirmed cushion merely because the earlier article used that name. GIA’s shape guide explains the distinction between cushion outlines and other rectangular styles.

Photographs are useful for setting details
The side views show the open basket, raised center and fine accents along the shoulders. Small settings continue along more than one surface of the upper band. The lower portion is plain, so the gallery does not show full eternity coverage.

Separate appearance from a grade
A diamond that looks bright in one image is not automatically colorless or flawless. Ask for the available grading report and compare the individual stone in normal lighting. Request center and accent weights separately, and confirm the metal and finger size.
