Custom Heirloom Cross: From Design to Finished Pendant
Share
A meaningful cross can begin with a family’s idea rather than a piece already in a display case. Our original project account described working with a client on the outline, materials and details of an heirloom pendant. The gallery follows that process from computer drawings to bench work and presentation.

Start with the outline and dimensions
The design uses rounded ends, a raised figure and a broad connecting loop. The back view helps show the overall shape before the more detailed front is considered. Size, thickness and the intended chain should be discussed together.

Review the details in the design
The computer views show where the small stones would sit and how the figure projects above the cross. These are design images, not photographs of a finished metal pendant. The rendered colors help visualize an option but do not establish the final gold fineness or stone identity.

Move from the design to the bench
The workshop photograph shows a jeweler working on the pendant. Later views show the formed cross held at the bench and resting on a cloth. The rounded ends, raised details and stone positions connect the physical piece to the earlier drawing.

Finish and present the piece
The close view shows red and clear accents at the ends of the cross. The final photograph presents the pendant and chain in a showroom box. For a new commission, agree on the metal, stones, dimensions, chain, finish, price and timing before production.
