Fancy Yellow Diamond Rings: Color, Halos and Bands
Share
A Different Direction for a Diamond Ring
Yellow diamond rings place color at the center of the design. The original photographs show a center surrounded by white stones and a band with repeated yellow stones. The contrast between the center, halo and metal changes the impression, so it is worth comparing a complete ring rather than looking only at a loose stone photograph.
Natural Color and Treated Color
A yellow appearance alone does not establish that a diamond’s color is natural. Ask for the grading report and the precise color origin description for the actual stone. Laboratory grown diamonds and diamonds with treated color should be clearly distinguished from natural diamonds with natural color. The photographs here cannot resolve those questions.
Understanding the Color Description
Fancy color descriptions consider hue, tone and saturation. They should be read from the report rather than guessed from an image taken under bright lighting. Compare the actual stones in similar conditions, and check whether the report covers the center stone or another part of the ring. A photograph is not a substitute for that record.
Halo Rings and Bands
A white halo frames the yellow center, while a band repeats the color around the finger. Check how the setting supports the stones, how it feels between the fingers and what resizing is possible. Older price tables and appreciation claims have been removed from this feature: they are not reliable quotes for a ring offered today. Confirm current details and availability for any piece you wish to see.
