Omega Speedmaster Moonphase: Blue Dial and Caliber 9904
Share
The blue Speedmaster Moonphase puts the lunar display near the bottom of the dial, below two counters. Its polished case edges, blue bezel and dark stitched strap give the watch a different character as the light changes.

Reading the Displays
The left counter combines a pointer date with running seconds. The right counter records chronograph minutes and hours. The large central chronograph hand measures elapsed seconds. The moon display is separate from those timing functions.

A Documented Reference Example
Omega’s specification for 304.33.44.52.03.001 lists a 44.25 mm steel case, blue dial and leather strap. Its self winding caliber 9904 has a stated 60 hour power reserve and Master Chronometer certification.
The earlier article associated these photographs with that reference. Confirm the individual watch’s reference and records before relying on its specifications for a purchase.

What the Case Back Shows
The transparent back reveals the automatic movement and rotor. This is a useful view for discussing the movement, but it does not replace an examination of condition or service history.

Living with the Moonphase
Ask for the correct setting instructions and a demonstration of the calendar and chronograph. Try the case beneath a sleeve and check the clasp fit. The extra displays are most useful when you find them easy to read and operate.
