Omega Speedmaster Professional vs. Reduced: A Reference Guide
Share
Compare Specific References
Speedmaster Professional and Speedmaster Reduced are useful starting names, but precise references make a better comparison. Different generations can use different movements and details. The photographs here also include Seamaster chronographs, which are retained as clearly labeled comparisons.

A Reduced Example
Omega lists Speedmaster Reduced reference 3510.50.00 with a 39 mm case and self winding calibre 3220. Those details belong to that reference. They are not a specification for every smaller Speedmaster, and the blue wave dial watch in this gallery is a Seamaster, not a Reduced.

A Professional Example
Omega’s specification sheet for Professional reference 310.30.42.50.01.001 lists a 42 mm case and manual winding calibre 3861. This provides a concrete contrast with the Reduced reference above. It does not identify the movement inside the older Professional photographed here.

Try the Fit and Winding Routine
Compare case thickness, strap or bracelet fit and the placement of the pushers. Consider whether you prefer a manual winding routine or automatic winding, then check the service history of the actual example. Old entry prices and general family descriptions are not a substitute for a current listing and inspection.
