Richard Mille RM 005 with Gem Set Bezels
Share
Black and white straps give the two RM 005 watches in this gallery noticeably different looks. Both have dark open dials and gem set bezels. The close photographs make it possible to compare the contrast around the case without treating the strap color as a separate model specification.
The RM 005 Background
Richard Mille dates the RM 005 to 2004, rather than 2005. It was the brand's first automatic model and introduced a variable geometry rotor. Rotor is the correct term for the winding component; it is not an electric motor. The manufacturer's account also describes the titanium baseplate and date display.

Compare the Two Watches
The white strap makes a strong border around the dark dial, while the black strap continues its darker tone. Small stones cover the bezels, with the screws still visible around the edges. Those visible details do not establish the gems' grades or whether the setting was supplied by the manufacturer.

Ask About the Exact Example
Request documentation for the reference and any gem setting or later modifications. Review service records, strap condition, case condition and the operation of the date. Automatic winding does not eliminate the need to follow the watch's winding instructions after it has stopped.
