Gem Set Rolex GMT-Master II: Dial and Bezel Details
Share
This archived Rolex GMT-Master II has a red and blue stone set bezel, a densely decorated dial and a warm colored case and bracelet. The photographs show how extensive gem work changes the appearance of the familiar GMT design.

Read the hands and date
The GMT layout includes an additional hand for a 24 hour indication, alongside the main time display. The window near three o’clock shows the date. It is not a day of the week display. With a gem set bezel, check the actual markings and reference instructions rather than assuming every time zone reading works like a standard graduated bezel.

Factory configuration or later work?
Ask whether the dial, bezel and other gem setting were fitted by Rolex or added afterward. Request the complete reference, original configuration and service records. The photograph does not establish stone grades, metal fineness or factory originality.
A separate Day-Date comparison
The final photograph shows a different Rolex with a dark dial and a day window at the top. It is included as a Day-Date styling comparison, not another view of the GMT-Master II.
