Rolex Oyster Perpetual 39 and Air-King 116900 Compared
Share
The Oyster Perpetual 39 reference 114300 and Air-King reference 116900 offer two different Rolex dial styles. Both are earlier references, so a useful comparison starts with their own specifications rather than those of the current collections.

Case size and movement
Rolex’s 114300 brochure lists a 39 mm case and calibre 3132. Its 116900 brochure lists a 40 mm case and calibre 3131. Both use a date free, three hand layout.

A quieter dial or more markings
The Oyster Perpetual uses a simpler arrangement of hour markers. The Air-King combines prominent 3, 6 and 9 numerals with minute markings and green details. Try reading each in ordinary light and consider which layout feels clearer to you.

Read this gallery as a broader comparison
The original article also included Sky-Dweller, a red dial gem set Rolex and Submariner photographs. They are retained and identified in their captions as additional examples. They do not show the Oyster Perpetual 39, and their features should not be attributed to reference 114300.

A model name attached to the wrong photograph can make a comparison misleading. Confirm the reference of any offered watch independently of this archive gallery.

Compare condition and fit
Check bracelet length, included links, clasp operation and service history. A small difference in stated diameter does not tell the whole story of how a watch will feel on your wrist.

Ask for a written description of replaced or modified components and any warranty terms. A specialist should assess the actual watch rather than relying on the reputation of the collection.

Neither reference has a fixed current price or guaranteed resale result. Use present condition, documented identity and personal preference to guide the comparison.
