Rolex Sky-Dweller on Leather: Dial and Calendar Guide
Share
A brown leather strap changes the appearance of this gold tone Rolex Sky-Dweller. The champagne colored dial and fluted bezel keep the front visually consistent, while the darker strap provides contrast. These original photographs show an earlier example rather than the current Rolex range.

Two time displays
The main hands show local time. The offset 24 hour disc provides a reference time, such as home time, with a fixed triangular pointer indicating the reading. The watch does not detect travel or change time zones by itself; the wearer sets it.

An annual calendar
Rolex’s Sky-Dweller guide explains the Saros annual calendar. It distinguishes months with 30 and 31 days and needs a calendar correction on March 1 when running continuously. The month is shown in one of twelve small windows around the dial. This is an annual calendar, not a perpetual calendar.

Check the strap and reference
Confirm the exact reference, metal, strap and buckle against the watch’s records. Inspect the leather for wear and ask about suitable replacement options. Current model specifications should not automatically be applied to an older watch.
