Yellow Gold Rolex Sky-Dweller: Dial and Calendar Guide
Share
The yellow gold Rolex Sky-Dweller in these archive photos pairs a champagne dial with Arabic hour numerals and a fluted bezel. Its offset disc makes the dial immediately recognizable, but the display has a practical purpose beyond its appearance.

Reading the travel display
The central hands show local time. The offset disc displays a reference time on a 24 hour scale, helping distinguish day from night in that second time zone. The date appears at 3 o’clock, while small apertures around the dial indicate the month.
Rolex introduced the Sky-Dweller in 2012. Its Saros annual calendar distinguishes between months with 30 and 31 days. The Ring Command system uses the bezel with the crown to select the function being adjusted. Rolex explains these features in its Sky-Dweller overview.

Identify the generation before comparing specifications
The pictured watch is an older archive example. Current Sky-Dweller specifications should not be assigned to it without checking the reference. In particular, a model page describing today’s movement does not prove which movement is inside an earlier watch.
Ask for the reference, production details, service records and confirmation of the dial and bracelet configuration. Use instructions that match that reference when setting the calendar.

Try the case and bracelet together
The broad dial and polished center links give this example a substantial presence. Try it with the bracelet fitted to your wrist and check the clasp, link movement and clearance under a cuff. Have the individual watch’s condition and water resistance assessed before relying on it around water.
These photographs preserve the earlier yellow gold look. They are not a live inventory listing or a promise of future resale value.
