Rolex Submariner 16613 Serti Dial: Features and Buying Guide
Share
The Rolex Submariner 16613 Serti dial pairs a sports watch layout with gem set hour markers. The pictured example has a pale dial, a blue bezel and a two tone bracelet, offering a different look from the blue dial Submariner beside it.
Reference details without mixing generations
Sotheby’s catalogue of a 16613 Serti example records a 40 mm case, yellow gold and steel construction, and an automatic calibre 3135. Its dial combines diamond and sapphire markers.
Christie’s describes a blue aluminum insert on another 16613. This older reference should not be described with a newer model’s ceramic insert or assumed to have a modern Glidelock clasp. The Submariner 16613 does not have a helium escape valve.
What the photographs show
The close view highlights the contrast between the pale dial, small clear markers and darker shaped markers. The side by side photograph lets you compare that layout with a blue dial watch. It does not establish that both watches share every technical specification.
Ask whether the dial, bezel, bracelet and other components are original, service replacements or later modifications. A recognizable dial alone does not settle authenticity or originality.
Condition and purchase questions
Review the reference, case condition, bracelet wear and available service history. Do not rely on weight, a smoothly moving seconds hand or a single engraving as proof of authenticity. A proper assessment considers the complete watch.
The original depth rating is not evidence of present water resistance. Have an older watch assessed before water use and confirm what any seller warranty covers.
Ask our Boca Raton team about current Submariner availability. The final photograph shows a general showroom evaluation, with a Datejust in the foreground; it is not another view of the featured Serti watch.
