Rolex Submariner Style: Blue and Black Dial Comparisons
Share
The blue and black Submariner Date watches in these photographs share a familiar outline but create different impressions. Both have warm colored cases and bracelets, a marked timing bezel and a date magnifier. Their appeal comes through in the details, without needing a promise of status or future value.

Blue changes the contrast
The blue dial and bezel bring color to the warmer metal. Broad hour markers and pale hands remain prominent against the dial. View a watch in ordinary indoor light as well as sunlight before deciding whether its color and readability suit you.

Black gives the markers a clear background
The black example has a darker frame around the dial. The closer photographs show the bezel markings, crown guards and bracelet surfaces. They do not establish the complete reference, case diameter or gold fineness.

Choose the individual watch
Ask for reference and service records, confirm the bracelet length and inspect its clasp. Specifications differ between Submariner generations, so a current model’s case size or movement should not automatically be applied to an older example. Have current water resistance assessed before swimming with a previously worn watch.
