Rolex Submariner with a Green Bezel: An Archived Example
Share
A green timing bezel surrounds the black dial of this Rolex Submariner. The contrast makes the bezel the strongest color in the design, while the steel colored bracelet keeps the rest of the watch restrained. These photographs preserve an earlier showroom feature.

Color is not a complete identification
More than one Submariner generation has paired a green bezel with a black dial. Confirm the actual reference and records before assigning a collector nickname, case measurement or movement specification. Photographs alone also cannot prove that a bezel insert or dial is original to the watch.

Details worth examining
Look at the bezel markings, dial, hands, date magnifier and bracelet from several angles. Ask about replaced parts and past polishing. A consistent appearance is useful, but an inspection and documented history matter more than a single close photograph.

Wear and water resistance
Try the bracelet and clasp, and review the most recent service information. An original depth rating does not establish the present water resistance of a used watch. Have its condition assessed before exposing it to water, and follow the instructions for the exact reference.
