Selling Gold in Boca Raton: How to Compare Offers
Share
Getting a clear offer for gold starts with understanding what is being valued. A broken chain, a signed bracelet and a ring with a valuable center stone should not automatically be treated as the same kind of material.
Separate the pieces before your visit
Keep pieces you want to sell apart from those you are still considering. Bring any receipts or relevant paperwork you already have. You do not need to polish everything first; abrasive cleaning can damage finishes, and a buyer needs to see the actual condition.

Ask how the amount was calculated
For a metal based offer, ask about the tested purity, the weight used and any deductions for stones or other components. Confirm whether weights are quoted in grams or another unit. A published gold market price is not the same as the amount paid for a finished piece.
For designer or collectible jewelry, ask whether the offer reflects resale as a complete piece. Maker, condition and demand may matter alongside the metal. The watch photograph below is an example of an item that needs an individual assessment, not just a gold weight calculation.

Compare the net amount
Ask each buyer to explain the offer and any fees before comparing totals. Confirm when the quotation expires and how payment will be made. There is no need to accept an offer you do not understand.
