A line bracelet with pale square shaped stones.

Tennis Bracelets: Stone Patterns, Fit and Clasps

A tennis bracelet follows the wrist with a flexible line of individually set stones. A continuous pale stone design is familiar, but the archive also includes green, dark and mixed color versions. The pattern and fit are both worth comparing.

Start with the stone arrangement

The square shaped stones in the first example create a more geometric line than a row of round stones. Compare the appearance of the whole bracelet at a normal viewing distance, then look closely at the individual settings.

Color needs its own description

Green and dark stones introduce a different rhythm along the wrist. Their color in a photograph does not establish gemstone identity or treatment. Ask for the materials in the written description rather than assuming every green stone is an emerald or every dark stone a black diamond.

Try the length and flexibility

The bracelet should move comfortably without feeling tight or slipping too far over the hand. Check how the links bend and whether any section feels stiff. A jeweler can advise on suitable length adjustments for the particular design.

Inspect the fastening

Check the main clasp and any safety catches. Ask a jeweler to inspect the settings and connections for wear. A loose stone or damaged link needs attention before further use.

Plan everyday wear with care

A familiar style name does not make a bracelet suitable for every activity. Avoid situations likely to catch, strike or strain it. Ask about cleaning appropriate to all of its stones and materials, especially when several gem types share one piece.

The original photographs offer a range of design ideas. Confirm current availability, total stone weight and condition for the bracelet you are considering.
