Emerald Cut Diamond Rings: Facets, Bands and Profile
Share
An emerald cut diamond is a diamond with a particular cutting style, not a green emerald gemstone. The rectangular center shown below has clipped corners and long, straight facets. Small stones along its band add a finer texture around that strong outline.

The center’s geometry
Look at the stone straight on, then turn it slowly. The broad facets reflect differently as the angle changes. Compare its actual dimensions and appearance in ordinary light, and review the available grading information instead of assuming that a bright photograph proves a clarity grade.

The band changes the overall impression
This design combines a prominent center with several rows of small accents. Consider the band’s width and how its decorated surfaces feel against neighboring fingers. Try a wedding band alongside it to see whether the two settings touch.
Study the raised profile
The cover and final image provide profile views of an accented setting. They help explain why looking only from above can miss important details. Confirm that every photograph supplied for a purchase depicts the same item, and ask about height, prong condition and the underside of the gallery.
