Starburst Rings: Small Details and Everyday Styling
Share
A small starburst gives this slim ring its focal point. Short rays extend from the center, creating a different outline from a round solitaire or a plain band. In the original photographs, the ring is worn beside a narrow diamond band rather than a matching star design.

Choose the scale you enjoy wearing
Starburst rings can be delicate or broad enough to cover much of a finger. This example is compact. Try a design at normal viewing distance as well as close up, and check the space between its points and neighboring fingers. The height of the setting can matter as much as its width.
Mixing with other rings
A plain band can let the star shape stand on its own, while a fine diamond band repeats its sparkle. Leave space between raised details so the rings do not constantly rub. The original photographs show one styling idea, not a requirement to buy a set.

Check pointed details
Run fabric gently past the ring during a fitting to see whether its tips catch. A jeweler should check a bent point or loose stone. Ask for the metal fineness, stone identification and resizing options for the individual piece; the photographs do not establish those specifications.
