Diamond Accents: Halos, Shoulders and Setting Details
Share
Diamond accents are the smaller stones that support a jewelry design rather than serving as its main focal point. They may outline a center, follow a band or add detail beneath a setting. Their placement matters as much as their size.

Accents along the shoulders
A row of small stones draws the eye toward the center. In the photographs, the rows stop before the plain lower band. Check where the stones end when comparing designs, especially if the description calls the ring an eternity style.

Visible and hidden halos
A broad halo surrounds the center when viewed from above. A hidden halo sits lower, beneath the main stone, and becomes more obvious in profile. These are different effects: one enlarges the visible outline, while the other adds detail from the side.

Ask what is included
Request the center weight separately from the total weight of the accent stones. Ask about their identity, origin and any available quality information. There is no single weight range or universal clarity rule that defines every accent diamond, and small size does not establish natural origin.

Inspect the complete setting
Look for even placement and have a jeweler check the small prongs and supports. Ask how the ring should be cleaned and whether its design affects resizing. Our Boca Raton team can help compare accented rings and explain the details of individual pieces.
