Eternity Rings: Full and Partial Bands, Fit and Style
Share
An eternity ring carries a repeating line of stones around the finger. A full eternity band continues all the way around; partial designs leave a section of plain metal underneath. Both can be worn as wedding bands, anniversary rings or a piece chosen simply because you like it.
Full or Partial Coverage
The band in these photographs shows stones continuing around the ring in individual settings. A full design keeps the pattern visible as the ring turns. A partial design can leave more plain metal against the palm. Neither is automatically the better choice: try both and notice how they feel when you close your hand.

Fit Before Carat Weight
Ring width, stone height and the shape of the settings all affect comfort. If the band will sit beside an engagement ring, try them together and check for rubbing. Ask whether the quoted weight is the total for the entire band, how many stones it contains and what grading information is available.

Plan for Sizing and Care
Full eternity rings can be difficult or impractical to resize. A plain section may give a jeweler more options, but it does not guarantee that any size change is possible. Confirm the limits for the particular construction before purchase.

Have worn settings or suspected loose stones assessed rather than tapping the ring to test them. Our Boca Raton team can help compare available bands, fit and how each design pairs with the rings you already wear.
