Selling Gold in Boca Raton: Your Appointment Checklist
Share
A gold selling appointment is easier when you know what information to bring and which questions to ask. You do not need to arrive with a perfect valuation. The purpose of an evaluation is to understand the pieces and consider an offer before deciding.
Before You Visit
Separate pieces you may sell from those you want to keep. Bring available receipts, maker information and prior appraisals. Keep broken pieces and matching parts together. Contact the buyer ahead of time to confirm appointment arrangements and any identification or ownership documents needed.

During the Evaluation
Ask how the metal is tested and weighed. Karat describes gold purity; it is not the same as a diamond's carat weight. A stamp alone does not prove composition. Discuss any testing that could affect the appearance of a piece before agreeing to it.
Understand the Offer
Ask whether stones, craftsmanship or a designer name contribute to the amount, or whether the piece is being evaluated mainly for metal. A quoted gold market price is not automatically the amount paid for finished jewelry. Purity, nonmetal components and the buyer's costs affect the calculation.

Before Accepting
Confirm the exact pieces included, the net payment and any deductions. Ask whether the offer has a deadline and how payment will be made. Compare another offer if you need more context. Selling jewelry does not guarantee a profit over what you originally paid.
At Completion
Keep a receipt that identifies the items and agreed amount. If an item remains with the buyer for further assessment, request an intake record and expected next step. Do not confuse an evaluation appointment with an obligation to sell.
