White vs Black Dial Rolex Daytona 116500LN

The Same Reference, Two Impressions
The white and black dial Rolex Daytona 116500LN examples in this gallery share a steel case, black ceramic tachymeter bezel and Oyster bracelet. Their dial colors create noticeably different impressions. This is a comparison of that earlier reference, not a claim that the 116500LN is the latest Daytona.
The White Dial
Dark rings around the chronograph displays stand out against the white dial. The contrast makes the individual displays visually prominent and separates the dial from the black bezel. Collectors often call this look Panda, but nicknames are less precise than the full reference and dial description. Try it in ordinary lighting as well as under bright showroom lights.
The Black Dial
On the black version, the dial and bezel form a more continuous dark field. The lighter surrounds of the chronograph displays and the polished hands become part of the contrast. That can make the watch feel different on the wrist even though changing the dial color does not change the reference’s nominal case size.
Compare Condition Alongside Appearance
The 116500LN belongs to the caliber 4130 generation. Check the service record, chronograph operation, bracelet condition and any replaced components on the watch you are considering. Ceramic is resistant to scratching but is not indestructible. The gallery also includes a different Daytona for context, identified in its caption. Old price premiums and waiting list claims cannot establish today’s availability or guarantee either dial’s future value.
