Cars & Watches: Are You Hyped For Diamonds & Donuts on July 12th?
We are 10 days out from the first Diamonds and Donuts Car Show since this COVID crisis started. In honor of that, we want to do a little feature on cars, watches and jewelry, because that’s what Diamonds and Donuts is all about! Let the hype begin…
Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG V8 Biturbos
Let’s start this off with something slightly unexpected, at least for those who are used to us showcasing exotic supercars on our Diamonds and Donuts recaps and “Cars and Watches” posts.
We had two Mercedes Benz G63 AMG Biturbos come through the other week for a quick diamond shopping spree. A photoshoot was only necessary as these twin G63 SUVs are pure fire.
The Gunmetal Gray and Polar White Mercedes Benz G63s are the definition of exquisite design, high technology, and raw performance.
The Performance SUVs come equipped with a handcrafted AMG 4L V8 biturbo engine that is capable of producing 577 hp and hitting a 0-60 in 4.5 seconds.
Furthermore, it uses an ECO start and stop system to save on fuel (much needed for a gas guzzler like this); direct injection and multispark ignition for exceptionally precise metering, ultrafine atomization and incredibly quick on/off switching speed; and a CAMTRONIC with AMG cylinder management to boost efficiency.
In terms of design, it doesn’t get more iconic in the world of SUVs than the AMG G63, and this new model takes things to the next level for the G Class. It’s more refined than ever, clearly evolving brilliantly. The cabin is super modern, taking the G-class into a new era where space, comfort, connectivity, and convenience are at the forefront.
Needless to say, these puppies are ultra-luxurious. They have Nappa leather upholstery and diamond stitching, heated seats, 3 zone climate control, 64 color LED ambient lighting, heat and noise-insulating glass, among other sumptuous features.
And all this doesn’t even begin to express the tech. With the 12.3” high-resolution center display, high-resolution multifunctional analog gauges, and command system touchpad, when you hop inside, you can see what the future of Mercedes looks like right now in the present.
All in all, these cars impressed us and we wanted to share them with here as they are in the price range for many of our clients, starting at $147,500 MSRP. If you like the sound of this vehicle, definitely check one out.
Speaking of checking out vehicles that you may be interested in buy…That’s one of the benefits Diamonds and Donuts. There are so many cars of all makes and models to peruse, as well as watches, so you can see if you want to get one yourself!
Diamond Patek
Now, what kind of watch is worthy of a new AMG G63? Rolex, Audemars Piguet, and Patek Philippe, we’d say. And with Patek, it may even be the other way around, depending on if you are more of a nut for cars or watches. In any case, Patek was the model of the day.
Here we have a Patek Philippe for the ages. It is a diamond bust down Patek Nautilus in 18 karat white gold. The bezel showcases baguette shape diamonds while the dial and bracelet have round brilliants. The diamonds on white gold create a monotone look that is full of contrasting luster and radiance. This watch induces major “wows” to all those around it. While the pictures of this diamond Patek are stunning, they really don’t do it justice. In real life, this watch is straight up astonishing.
If you like this watch, you can check out the full sales listing here. It is very reasonably priced at $80,000. About half the cost of the G63 behind it. With watches like this Diamond Patek, you are basically wearing a sports car on your wrist.
Mercedes-Benz AMG GTR V8 Biturbo
AMG Biturbos seem to be rolling in left and right these days. The other day we had a nice visit with our friend who owns the AMG GT. This is a ridiculous car, and we mean that in the best way possible.
The AMG GT coupe is thoroughly endowed with a handcrafted 4L AMG V8 biturbo engine. It has the power of 577 thoroughbred racehorses and a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT® DCT dual-clutch rear-mounted transaxle transmission. It can do 0-60 in a mere 3.5 seconds and the handling is superb.
This is easily one of our favorite cars in the game. The powertrain contains much of the same assets as the new G63 that we discussed. In addition, it has dry-sump lubrication for hard cornering and various extremes, a hot inside V turbocharger for better performance all around, a carbon fiber torque tube, and a bunch of other features that will blow your mind.
The handling on this coupe is insane thanks to a forged aluminum double wishbone coil-over suspension and AMG Ride Control sports suspension, speed-sensing dynamic power steering, active rear-wheel steering, and 9-mode traction control, among other advanced features.
Even with its imposing performance specs, the design is really what gets us. The car is unbelievably, jaw-droppingly, sleek and handsome. It is very curvaceous and aerodynamically “mean”-looking at the same time. But what you can’t tell just by looking at it is how lightweight the car is.
What’s more, and it goes without saying, really, the AMG GT C has all the infotainment and connectivity you could ask for.
Want to make the AMG GT coupe yours? So do we. Head to your local Mercedes dealership, but be ready to cough up 160 grand for the base, standard model.
Stainless Steel Audemars Piguet 26400 Royal Oak Offshore
We took this robust beast of a watch out for a drive in our camouflage Humvee, which you will see at Diamonds and Donuts…This AP is a suitable companion for the Humvee, to say the least.
This is the watch for those with a powerful, heavy-duty kind of taste. It is a 44mm Royal Oak Offshore. The bezel is made from indomitable black ceramic, as are the chrono pushers. The big boy case is solid stainless steel, brush-finished to perfection. As for the dial, it is the classic AP Tapisserie chronograph dial. The case, bezel, dial and chrono subregisters all match in neutral fashion. Thus, creating a clean cool, simple and classic design that will never go out of style.
The watch comes with the OEM AP black diver strap. However, we decided to switch it up for a camo Horus Watch Strap to create a consummate harmony between the AP Royal Oak and the military Humveee.
At the end of the day, we just wanted to show this watch off. Not to mention, our humvee. Both are fun to take out.
While the AP Royal Oak is for sale, the Humvee is not.
2013 Ferrari California
So, we had the pleasure of receiving a visit from this lovely lady last month. She rolled up in her 2014 pearly white Ferrari California.
We don’t need to tell you this car is fast, it’s a Ferrari after all. That said, the Ferrari California is the most chill Ferrari in terms of performance and style.
What the California really excels in is luxury. This is the luxury supercar that you want for everyday use.
At Diamonds By Raymond Lee, you can expect to see the whole gamut of Ferrari. From 488 GTBs to 458 Speciales, you’ll surely get your prancing horse fix.
Rolex 80319 Datejust Pearlmaster 18K Two Tone Gold Diamond Watch + 12 Carat Internally Flawless Fancy Yellow Diamond Ring
At Diamonds By Raymond Lee, we have been supplying Boca Raton and South Florida’s insatiable need for diamonds and watches since 2016 (and Raymond Lee Jewelers has been for more than three decades). So, it goes without saying, the Diamonds and Donuts car show will be chock full of diamonds and watches too, not just cars. We even have a jewelry giveaway!
In this pic, you can see a Rolex Pearlmaster reference 80319 and a ginormous 12 carat fancy yellow diamond ring.
The Rolex 80319 is a ladies Datejust Pearlmaster. It is 29mm and made entirely from 18k gold. The dial is a white, beautifully iridescent Mother of Pearl, and the bezel is embellished with 12 exquisite round brilliant diamonds. What’s even more special about this Pearlmaster is the Pearmaster bracelet. It is two toned white and yellow gold with intermediate links that are curved. It creates a very unique look for this watch. Wear this watch and you can be sure you won’t find another lady with the same one…the same goes for the diamond ring.
This diamond ring is truly one of a kind. It features a 12.02 carat radiant cut fancy yellow diamond that is internally flawless. What this means is, this diamond ring is extremely costly. In fact, it is $400,000. The most expensive thing featured in this article. The accent diamonds, which are trillion cuts, could be a whole extravagant ring themselves. This is not just a ring, it’s an heirloom. Made for the most elite member of our society. That’s just the bottom line. Until that special person buys it, we will continue showing it off here and there 😉 If you’d like, ask us to check it out at Diamonds and Donuts this month, we may just pull it from the safe for our close friends to see.
TESLA CHARGING STATION
We’ve always had a good crew of Teslas at our monthly Diamonds and Donuts car show, but ever since we installed our row of EV chargers, the numbers keep growing. Not to mention, the popularity of Teslas is rapidly increasing, and for good reason.
There are many reasons why Teslas are so popular and special. First, they are the future right here in the present. Teslas are proof that we don’t have to sacrifice the beauty of cars…moreover, performance. It’s just, well, different.
The design of Teslas are sporty, modern, and sleek, but they are just cars on the exterior. Cool cars, nevertheless. However, inside they are extremely luxurious and roomy. Without the need of a large gas tank and engine bay, there’s a lot more space to play with. On top of that, the technology is unquestionably unparalleled. The best part about the tech is it is super user friendly.
Did we mention its propulsion system? No…that’s just a rhetorical question and segue to discuss it.
Forget about internal combustion engines and multispeed transmissions with hundreds of moving parts and regular maintenance, Teslas have electric motors with two moving parts and single-speed “transmissions” that has no gears. The drivetrain has around 17 moving parts, compared with 200 in a conventional internal combustion drivetrain. This makes Teslas virtually maintenance-free.
And the speed is unreal. The new Roadster is suppose to do 0-60mph in 1.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 250mph according to Elon Musk.
To take things even further, the car is indestructible. Tesla won the highest safety honor from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Put simply, it is the safest car ever tested. Their newest car has the lowest probability of injury in a rash of the 900 plus cars tested at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Be progressive and a real car enthusiast (yes, we said it) and get a Tesla if you have the wherewithal.
