Our First Diamonds & Donuts Cruise: April 19, 2020

On April 19, 2020, members of our Diamonds & Donuts community gathered for a car cruise while the regular showroom car shows were paused. The original recap described a last minute plan, a sunny morning and a chance for car owners to see familiar faces from their own vehicles.

The Gathering in Boca Raton

Participants met at Diamonds By Raymond Lee before the morning departure. The cars included Lamborghinis, McLarens, Corvettes, a Camaro, a Porsche Panamera and other local favorites. Street bikes also joined the drive. Our camouflage Humvee appeared in the photographs but, according to the original account, did not join the route.

The orange McLaren was one of the cars highlighted in the recap. The gallery also shows a silver Lamborghini from the rear, a black Camaro with rear window louvers and a white Corvette beside a red Porsche. The variety of cars was part of the appeal.

The Route Remembered

The account described traveling from North Federal Highway toward Spanish River Boulevard and A1A, continuing toward Palm Beach and crossing the Intracoastal into West Palm Beach. The group then returned south on I‑95 toward Boca Raton. This is a summary of that past drive, not a current route guide.

The original story emphasized taking time to enjoy the drive. The photographs include views from the cars and the showroom lot before departure.

Keeping the Date Clear

The cruise happened during the early pandemic period. Organizers asked participants to remain in their vehicles and limit close contact. That explains the event’s name and format, without making a guarantee about health outcomes or claiming it was the first such event in all of South Florida.

The post also announced a second cruise for May 3, 2020. That date has passed. Contact our team for current event information rather than using the old registration instructions. Thank you to everyone who helped keep our car community connected during that time.
