Diamonds & Donuts COVID Cruise II: May 3, 2020 Recap

Our second Diamonds & Donuts COVID Cruise took place on May 3, 2020. The original recap described a larger turnout than expected, with cars filling the showroom lot and lining the nearby street. This gallery records that day during the pause in our usual car shows.

The Cars That Joined

Ferraris, McLarens and Lamborghinis arrived alongside Porsches, Corvettes, Challengers and a Rolls Royce Cullinan. The photographs include a white Ferrari 458 Spider, red and blue Ferraris, blue and orange McLarens, a green Lamborghini and a Porsche with a striped livery.

The original article inconsistently named some Ferrari variants and described a C7 Corvette as a 2020 model. We have kept the photographs and used broader descriptions where the exact version or model year is not established. Prices and performance claims are not needed to appreciate the cars.

A Route That Needed Adjusting

The group planned to travel south from Boca Raton toward Las Olas and return on I‑95. The account reported an early route change through Camino to A1A after the original turn at Palmetto Park did not work as planned. The number of cars also made it difficult to keep the group together.

Those details are part of the event history, not directions for a new cruise. A future event needs its own route and arrangements. The gallery shows the gathering, roadside views and cars photographed along the drive.

A Community Memory

At the time, the organizers asked participants to stay in or near their own vehicles and limit close contact. The original claims that everyone followed every precaution cannot be established from photographs. We retain the social context without treating the event as proof of safety.

Thank you to the owners and visitors who took part. The post discussed doing more cruises, including a possible Alligator Alley route, but that was a proposal in 2020, not an upcoming event announcement.
