How Do We Create Custom Three-Stone Rings?

Let’s take a look at a piece of jewelry we made a year ago. A customer came in wanting a high-clarity, three-stone diamond ring. The customer already has something specific in mind when she arrives. After the customer explains what she wants, we use computer-aided design software (CAD) to create a mock-up of what the piece of jewelry will look like. We chose a 4.06 carat E color diamond of VVS2 clarity. It is one of the most stunning stones you can choose. The side accent stones are high-quality diamonds that weigh a total of 1.25 carats. These stones are E color and of VS1 clarity. She wants the highest-quality stones possible. She also has an idea of how she wants the stones set and the shape and design of the band

• Creating the Mock-up and Revision

We show her our mock-up and she can request changes. She chose a shank taper and selected larger stones for the accent diamonds. We use 3d prints to make a test run of the ring. The customer sees the mock-up and approves the final design. The customer chooses platinum. The in-house jeweler sets the stones and gives the final polish to the ring. These extra steps and 3d mockup allow us to ensure that the customer gets exactly what they want. This allows for last-minute changes. It also helps to ensure satisfaction with the piece when the jeweler finishes it. The resulting ring is a stunning three-stone ring. It perfectly suits the customer and she is incredibly pleased with the results. We are very proud of the work our jeweler creates.
