The Breitling Chronomat is one of the most recognized sport chronographs in watchmaking history. Reborn in 1984 under the direction of Ernest Schneider, the Chronomat was developed in partnership with the Italian aerobatic display team Frecce Tricolori and quickly became the definitive pilot's chronograph of its era. The D13352 reference represents the classic 39mm generation produced through the 1990s, a period when the Chronomat carried its most distinctive features: the signature rider tab bezel, the robust Rouleaux bracelet, and a movement built to COSC chronometer standards. These watches were made to fly. They wore that ambition honestly.

This example pairs a rich blue chronograph dial against an 18k yellow gold bezel and the iconic three-row Rouleaux bracelet in stainless steel and 18k yellow gold. The tachymeter scale rings the inner bezel, luminous indices mark the hours with no ambiguity, and three crisp subdials carry the chronograph functions. The two-tone combination gives the watch warmth without sacrificing any of the Chronomat's muscular presence. At 39mm, it sits closer to a modern mid-size, wearing more versatilely than the oversized chronographs that came later. Light wear is consistent with a life well-lived, and the crystal and dial remain in excellent shape.

A collector's era Chronomat in the two-tone configuration is increasingly hard to find in this condition. The gold rider tab bezel and matching Rouleaux bracelet are period-correct details that later references simplified away. This is a watch for someone who wants the real thing: an automatic Swiss chronograph from Breitling's most celebrated decade, ready to wear every day.
