The Cartier Tortue is one of the Maison's most venerable creations, first conceived in 1912 and named for the gentle, tortoise-shell curve of its case. Where most dress watches default to round or rectangular, the Tortue occupies its own category: a softly cushioned, asymmetrical form that wraps the wrist with an ease no round case quite replicates. The larger modern interpretation at 38mm retains every classical proportion while giving the watch a presence suited to today's wrist. In 18k rose gold, with a manually wound movement inside, it represents Cartier's jewelry-watchmaking tradition at its most refined.
The silver guilloché dial is what distinguishes this reference from the simpler Tortue variants.
