The Rolex 116333 is the two-tone expression of the Datejust II, introduced alongside the 41mm case refresh that modernized the Datejust line for a broader, sportier wrist. Yellow Rolesor — Rolex's name for the pairing of 18k yellow gold and Oystersteel — appears throughout: the fluted gold bezel catches the light with an almost prismatic intensity, the gold center links of the Oyster bracelet contrast crisply against the steel outer links, and the whole package reads as unmistakably Rolex from across the room. The reference 116333 occupied a sweet spot in the lineup: more presence than the standard 36mm Datejust, all the dressy two-tone character, and the robustness of the Oyster case construction.
The Wimbledon dial is the standout detail here. Named for the grass courts of the All England Club, the gradient grey-green surface deepens across the dial face and sets off the Roman numeral hour markers in a rich, coordinated green.
